Panic Attacks
Quote from Brother Sjambok on January 29, 2025, 8:04 pmPost Example: After my Dad died, I started suffering with intense panic attacks. I could be sitting watching tv and suddenly feel an instant cold sweat, thumping pressure in my chest, and awful ringing in my ears. It would be terrifying, and force me to respond with the urgent need to flight or fight. I would have to get up, and escape the surroundings I was in, even if it meant rushing outside until the attack subsided.
Apart from medication, I found a few ways to cope, and over time the attacks stopped. Listening to soothing music, tapping my chest lightly to distract my thought process, and having the courage to share my story, really helped me.
I want everyone to know that there is hope, there is a way to overcome panic attacks, and you are not alone.
